The Transit of Mercury – 9th May 2016, where Mercury passes in front of The Sun

These pictures were taken of The Sun projected from a telescope onto card (Never look at the Sun directly through a telescope of binoculars)

In the first image you can see Sun spots towards the centre of the image (that smudge), and to the right and slightly lower you can see a clear round dot, the clear round dot is the planet Mercury

In this image you can clearly see Mercury has moved from the previous image.
